Spring has arrived, the crocuses have bloomed, your daffodils and hyacinths have woken. Warm air is shaking your plants to wake up.
Easter has come, and Mother’s Day is next.
But this year, Mother’s Day was April 5th to me. Mother’s Day was special this year.
Mom turned 90 on April 5th, and that is a reason to celebrate.
Mom has been blessed with good health, great children, and super great-grandchildren to keep her on her toes.
And Dad is not far behind at 88.
He planted the garden in Florida with beans, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers and is busy keeping up with mom.
To their friends, Bob and Floss are graduates of Neshaminy, and have spent decades supporting their alma mater and following all teams on the web. Dad and Mom also help out at the garden center each year.
Dad sells Christmas Trees and makes grave blankets while mom stays home making bows with the bow machine.
It is hard to keep them still for 30 days, as they travel between their five children, 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. And, as mom and dad look forward to their next decade of change in this world, their future plans have been set in stone.
This world is but a vapor; we are here today and gone tomorrow. They have a future with a mansion and streets paved of gold.
Thank you, Mom, for being an example for all who are following in your footsteps.
