Some of these effects may also occur in pregnant women.
Extensive research has been conducted on the benefits of childhood Yoga which suggests that it cultivates competencies in mind-body awareness, self-regulation, and physical fitness.
Yoga also provides a multitude of physical and emotional benefits that can enhance the whole experience of birth and parenting.
Newtown resident Michelle El Khoury, Ph.D. incorporated her background, 20-year healthcare career and passion she had for yoga into YOGAMAZIA, a new prenatal and kids yoga studio opening in late spring in Richboro.
Michelle was personally drawn to yoga whilst pregnant with her second child and noticed its positive mental and physical effects.
With this belief, YOGAMAZIA aims to empower kids to learn and love Yoga from the womb and encourage families to understand and enjoy its benefits within a community spirit.
All YOGAMAZIA classes are structured around its mission and values to create a safe, judgment-free space for children of all ages, including those with additional needs.
Prenatal classes are based on all trimesters using appropriate modifications.
YOGAMAZIA also offers opportunities to surrounding area schools and childcare centers, as well as hosts birthday parties. It’s beautiful, light-filled, kid-centered facility follows COVID-19 Guidance for Businesses in Bucks County, State of PA, and CDC.
Students can learn and practice yoga poses, breathing activities and mindfulness techniques, in an engaging and non-competitive way while having fun at the same time.
