CHECK OUT THE NEW BUCKSBLOGSPOT. HELP FOR BUCKS COUNTY BUSINESSES AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY – BUCKSBLOGSPOT

    Spotlight: Andy Warren for Controller

The first question most often asked once someone learns I am running for Bucks County Controller is – “What does a Controller do?”

Followed quickly by – “What in your background has prepared you to be a Controller?”

The answer to the first question is:

The Controller is “the final independent check on the fiscal activities of the executive and legislative branches of County government” – the Watch Dog!

The Controller is a member of the County’s retirement board, salary board, and prison oversight board.

The important job of the Controller is to ask questions, and provide another set of eyes, from a different perspective or governmental philosophy.

Regarding tax dollar spending, the Controller should be the “brake” to the Commissioner’s “gas pedal”.  The “Watch Dog” of YOUR taxpayers’ dollars!

The answer to the second question – I have attended every 2020 Commissioner meeting in person or by Zoom in preparation to be a fully informed Controller candidate – knowledgeable of current County issues.

NO candidate has come to a Controller race more prepared than me – I have four (4) years as a Warminster Township Supervisor, thirty (30) years as a William Tennent High School Coach, fifteen (15) years as a Bucks County Commissioner, ten (10) years as the “public face” of PENNDOT in southeastern Pennsylvania, and ten (10) years as the Executive Director of the PENJERDEL Council.
