The Healing Consciousness Foundation (HCF), founded by Dr. Beth Dupree, and the Bucks County Breast Friends Support Group are hosting their Fifth Annual Walk to raise awareness of and funding their mission: “To improve the quality of life for those at high risk for, or diagnosed with, breast cancer through education, lifestyle modifications, and holistic healing.” The HCF provides funding for services that standard health care does not cover, but which are vitally needed by women, men, and their families when faced with a breast cancer diagnosis. HCF funded services empower them and their families to reduce their risk factors and realize their full healing potential.
The Walk will be held on Sunday, May 16th, at Warminster Township Community Park, 1100 Veterans Way, Warminster. Sign in is 8:15am. The Walk starts at 9:00am. The registration fee is $25 and includes a shirt if you register by April 23rd. Water and refreshments will be provided for participants who choose to run in the park. This year’s Walk includes a Virtual participation option for those who would like to participate, but cannot make the walk in-person. Virtual participants can walk in their neighborhood, on their treadmill, or just around their yard! Their start and end times is within their control.
Breast cancer patients face challenges that extend far beyond their diagnosis and treatment. It is the HCF’s belief that when a patient is fighting for life, they should not be forced to fight to make life a little bit easier during a very difficult time. The HCF provides funds to help patients with deductible and out-of-pocket expenses for services including counseling, nutritional support, weight management, exercise training, and meditation. Holistic services such as therapeutic massage and guided imagery for stress and pain are also encouraged. Funds are also provided to cover the cost of post-operative lymphedema sleeves, breast prostheses, wigs, and post-surgical garments.
