Spotlight: Sparks Industries

What type of mulch is best?

Mulch is a gardener’s best friend.

It has many benefits beyond boosting your home’s curb appeal.

Mulch plays a pivotal role in a garden’s success – it suppresses weeds, enriches soil with nutrients, regulates temperature, improves retention of moisture, and prevents soil erosion.

At Sparks Industries, we offer a variety of different mulches.

Triple Ground Mulch is made of recycled tree material and does everything a good mulch should do. It lasts a long time which is good for people who want to mulch once a year or even every other year.

Since hardwood mulch lasts a while, the following year you’ll have to take up the old mulch that didn’t fully break down before installing new mulch.

The only difference between Triple Ground Non-Dyed, Triple Ground Brown Dyed, and Triple Ground Black Dyed is the color of the mulch.

Triple Ground natural is a dark brown in color but can fade overtime when exposed to the sun.

Some people like the dramatic effect Black Dyed mulch has while others like the more subtle Brown Dyed in their flower beds.

Leaf mulch has been growing in popularity over the past few years.

Made from composted leaves, it’s very dark in color, and adds an abundance of nutrients back into the soil.

When you mulch the following year, it has already broken down to become a rich soil.

This would not be ideal for someone that does not want to mulch every year.

Nutri-Mulch is a newer option we offer, a blend of Triple Ground mulch and composted manure ground together.

This mulch is unique because it is good at weed prevention, adds nutrients back to the soil, and is naturally dark without the use of dye.
