To date, over 1,300,000 meals have been delivered throughout Central Bucks and portions of Upper Bucks County.
Meals on Wheels of Central Bucks is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and receives no government funding.
It relies heavily on donations from foundations, corporations, churches, service organizations, and individuals.
If you are having trouble food shopping or preparing meals, or perhaps you have recently undergone a medical procedure, or are COVID-19 affected, Meals on Wheels is here to make sure you get a well-balanced meal delivered right to your door.
A typical day’s delivery includes a hot meal providing a delicious hot entree (including vegetables and a starch) as well as a sandwich, fruit, and milk.
Currently, over 250 dedicated volunteers help package and deliver meals to area shut-ins utilizing space provided by the Central Bucks Senior Center right in the heart of Doylestown. The meals are prepared by a commercial caterer dedicated to providing high quality and nutritious food.
Since COVID-19, new safety and sanitation procedures have been implemented for added protection.
There is a very reasonable daily charge for the meals and there are no income limitations for participation.
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday and you can customize which days you want those meals delivered.
Meals on Wheels of Central Bucks serves the communities of Doylestown, New Britain, Chalfont, Warrington, Warwick, Buckingham, Plumstead, New Hope, Solebury, Dublin, Bedminister, Hilltown, Tinicum and Nockamixon.
