The Lower Makefield Township’s Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is a volunteer group that is dedicated to protecting and improving the quality of the environment in Lower Makefield Township and educating the public on environmental issues.
The EAC’s efforts in 2020 included two Styrofoam collections for recycling, planting hundreds of trees/shrubs along a Buck Creek tributary at Patterson Farm, submitting comments on five proposed developments in the Township, and sending out several EAC newsletters.
The 2021 initiatives include the following: free lecture on “What’s Bugging Our Trees in PA,” two Styrofoam collection events, three or four tree plantings at various locations to enhance LMT’s parks and provide riparian buffers, and promote adoption of the “Ready for 100” resolution to encourage the use of renewable energy.
EAC members include Linda Salvati (Chair), Kevin Gallen (Vice-chair), Jim Bray, Soumya Dharmavaram, Paul Roden, and Alan Dresser.
Additional members are needed; if interested e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for details on joining. The EAC meets every month, either by Zoom call or at the Township Building.
