Stroll the streets of Newtown, a quaint little picturesque community, and take in the holiday decorations, lights, and festive atmosphere.
While you are in Newtown, stop in the boutique shops for your holiday shopping and local restaurants for some of Bucks County’s best food.
When you vote for your favorite decorated “Borough Business” window, you will have the chance to win a holiday gift basket filled with goodies from local Newtown businesses.
And if you bring your camera, test your photography skills by entering the Newtown Historical Association’s “Home for the Holiday’s” photo contest – which runs through December 31st.
Experience all that Newtown has to offer by starting your walking tour at one end of State Street, or the corner of Jefferson, and then head south along State street.
You will see local shops like Blue Pooch Grooming and a beautiful mix of residential and businesses, including the historic Newtown Theatre, built in 1831.
When you continue south, you will reach Washington Avenue’s cross street, where you will discover the Temperance House on State street, dating back to 1772, and Newtown Hardware House, founded in 1869.
Just a little further down the street, check out one of the more recent additions to the Borough, JMcLaughlin and the famous Half Moon Inn, where President George Washington has resided.
