Area vets to benefit from two nonprofits partnering

HealthLink Dental Clinic, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Southampton, and Heroic Gardens of Jenkintown, have decided to partner in select areas to provide their FREE health and wellness services to low income military veterans in Bucks and Montgomery Counties who meet the organizations’ simple qualification guidelines. “Our goal is to work together and provide important services to area veterans who may otherwise go without them,” states Raquel Breamer, Healthlink’s executive director.

“Although we work independently to serve our own visions and missions, there are areas where sharing resources, contacts, and capabilities makes great sense. We think this will help both of us assure better awareness and best program coverage and outcomes moving forward.”

“We are always looking for more and better ways to extend our reach and service our patient base,” notes Rick James, vice president of HeathLink’s board of directors. “Partnering is a proven strategy for nonprofits that will maximize both organizations’ capabilities.” The two organizations see veterans as a primary audience and both want them (veterans) to be fully aware of these organizations’ interest in providing a full range of free health and wellness services.

Heroic Gardens’ focus is connecting U.S. military veterans with plants and nature. The organization collaborates with veterans in their own homes to transform backyards and grow plant indoors. It is through this thoughtful, free plant-based activity that the organization is able to help veterans reduce their stress, increase their confidence, and improve their overall mental health. HealthLink is dedicated to providing free dental services to the same qualified veteran base as well as to low income adults age 18 and over living in Bucks and Montgomery Counties only. Services include oral examinations, X-rays, dental hygiene treatments, extractions, root canals, and patient education programs and materials.
