The Birches at Newtown

    Live a full life, here.

At The Birches at Newtown, our friendly and professional staff is a familiar face. Each interaction is thoughtful, compassionate and personal.

We take the time to know our residents’ names – their life stories, loved ones and preferences.

Unlike most retirement communities, The Birches makes senior living affordable with a month-to-month lease option and no buy-in fees.

Services and amenities are comparable to a five-star hotel, offering beautiful indoor and outdoor common spaces, deliciously prepared meals, and a variety of daily activities.

Also included in the monthly rent is access to state-of-the-art therapy services designed to maintain balance, strength, and flexibility to support daily function and prevent injury.

Through a partnership with FOX Rehabilitation, we provide these services, including FOX Optimal Living on site.

This individualized, evidence-based program considers each resident’s physical strengths and weaknesses and tailors exercises for them.

“FOX Optimal Living is unlike any model of therapy seen in personal care and memory care. All residents, regardless of insurance coverage, age or limitations, can participate in this unique program,” said Marketing Director Julianne Hart.

Residents have the option of receiving 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week in a one-on-one class or smaller group setting based on similar levels of fitness.

Specialized therapy programs are also available to residents living with Parkinson’s disease or other movement disorders.

Daybreak at The Birches is our secure and nurturing memory care neighborhood. Our Daybreak Coordinator constructs a person-centered plan highlighting each resident’s abilities, helping them experience happy, purposeful moments.

“Everyone has a life full of experiences – this will always be there, just in another way, another now,” noted Daybreak Coordinator Armgard Kucas.

Our caregivers provide dignified care and receive ongoing training in Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care. This caring philosophy focuses on what residents can do, what makes them happy, and what instills fulfillment.

Daybreak’s highly structured programming promotes independence and socialization through art, music and pet therapy.

Consistent, quality care does not stop just because there is a virus.

Residents continue to get the care, nutrition and engagement they need to live a full life.

Our management is following guidelines issued by federal and state health authorities to diminish the risk of COVID-19.
