Water Wheel Tavern is a historic Bucks County landmark built in 1714 by John Dyer, an English Quaker.
Originally an early 1700’s grist mill turned tavern with the repeal of prohibition in 1933, Water Wheel Tavern received a full renovation over four years ago.
Keeping in line with the historic Bucks County charm, the Doylestown Icon was transformed into a thriving establishment with 16 rotating crafts on tap, amped-up tavern fair and one of the best happy hour scenes (thank you free and ample parking lot!).
Our décor matches the feel of the building with exposed stone and woodwork, but also has a touch of industrial/modern.
Our menu ranges from burgers, flatbreads, and pub food, as well as fine affairs like filet mignon, braised short rib, crab-cakes, and scallops.
Creating a menu that encompasses a wide range of taste buds, even including a Children’s Menu, has proven a success for Water Wheel Tavern.
We keep our menu fresh by making changes seasonally, and providing additional specials that change weekly.
Located just minutes from the heart of Doylestown within Bucks County, Water Wheel Tavern’s location is ideal for hosting private events with its capacity to seat up to more than 250 patrons. We have packages for meetings, bridal showers, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate luncheons, corporate dinners, graduations, christenings, baptisms, and more. Free and ample parking is provided as well.
The tavern is open six days a week, Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday 4:00pm to 10:00pm, Saturday from 11:30am to 10:00pm, and Sunday from 11:30am to 9:00pm. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, as well as take out.
