AOY Art Center presents Ninth Annual Juried Show

Art enthusiasts, collectors, and the public are invited to attend the Ninth Annual Juried Show Opening at the AOY Art Center, 949 Mirror Lake Road in Yardley on Friday, October 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

The exhibition runs Saturday, October 24th through November 15th. Gallery hours are noon to 5:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Bucks County’s renowned artist, Jennifer Hansen Rolli, is the Juror for 2020. Ms. Rolli is an illustrator, children’s author and artist.

This year’s show was to have been held in April. However, with the onset of COVID-19 we had to reassess.

Unlike many art organizations, we decided to reschedule rather than cancel outright.

Along with in-person Gallery Time and in-person Opening/Awards Presentation, there will be an online gallery to augment visibility and sales of the artwork in a traditional grid format.

We are also pleased to offer an immersive 3D Virtual Gallery experience allowing the visitor to see the art in relation to other artworks and get a sense of size.

Viewers can click on an image and see the artist’s information and statement as well.

In another very special feature, Jennifer Hanson Rolli has narrated her reasons for selecting key pieces as part of an online guided tour.

The online tour and 3D gallery will be available Opening Night, October 23rd, 6:00pm at aoyartcenter.org

AOY takes great care to ensure everyone’s safety.

The Opening Reception will be held outside where people can socially distance. Masks are required.

The number of persons inside the Art Center Gallery are limited to 20 for 20 minutes at a time.

Sanitation stations will be present along with increased cleaning and tertiary air filtration units to assist in mitigating any spread of disease.

This is the only exhibition AOY holds that non-members can participate in, and always displays incredibly varied work in both media and individual artist approaches.

This year’s accepted works include oil and acrylic paintings, photographs, watercolor, ceramics, pastel, multimedia, collage, encaustic and more.

One hundred and thirteen artists from five states submitted over 290 pieces and only 99 works were selected.

AOY is awarding cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250. Jerry’s Artarama of Lawrenceville will also provide prizes for the Honorable Mention categories.
