Salon In Vogue asks ‘Is this your best look?’
We have noticed a change of personal image now that we are living with COVID-19.
Several of our clients have decided to get more in touch with their inner selves by seeing what their natural grey hair will look like once it has grown out.
Most of them ask our opinions, but do they really want to hear what we think?
My best friend tells me that I am the ONLY person that does not like her grey hair and gives me a daily report of who loves it.
Evidently, not a one thinks it makes her look older!
I have struggled to answer honestly, and generally feel that grey hair is the single most noticeable sign of aging.
In contrast, we have all seen young high fashion models and beautiful young women sporting the fresh look of Salon created shades of grey in their hair and some look great.
Is it realistic to think that the same look could be achieved on an older person and look just as great?
Let’s face the facts, you will look older than you did when you colored your hair.
If this is not a concern for you, then go for it!
Some of our clients are looking at this as an opportunity to remove the color and then start from scratch, which could be a good idea.
It is nice to reassess your look, and this is a perfect opportunity!
Several of the most important things to consider when evaluating whether your grey looks good on you are skin tone and hair texture. Many of us do not look good with steely hair color next to our skin, especially sallow or olive skin toned people.
If your natural hair comes in pure white you can do a happy dance because it will blend far better with various skin tones.
Next is hair texture.
Smooth straight or smooth curly hair looks better grey than hair that is dry or has any type of frizzy texture.
Lastly, you need to ask yourself, “Is this my best look?”
Salon In Vogue is here to help you answer that question.
