Folks, the real estate market is still hot, hot, hot!
For instance, a modest Langhorne home listed for low $400’s had a dozen offers in one day and went well over full price!
In the 27 years of my real estate career, I have never seen anything like it!
Part of the reason could be the incredibly low mortgage rates – as low as 2.875% for a 30-year conventional mortgage.
If you are considering selling your home, take a walk around the exterior; does the trim need repair; are your gutters clear; does the siding need a scrub or power washing (be careful before you power wash – sometimes a soft brush is all you need); make sure that your front door handles and knobs are polished and shiny, if not, replace them.
Pots of flowers and a nice welcome mat enhance the entry.
On the interior: unclutter your surfaces; paint and touch up where needed; if you have too much furniture in a room, remove; go down to the basement and check the filter on your HVAC system.
For buyers, engage a realtor that you feel that you can trust to look after your best interest.
Talk to a mortgage person and get preapproved before looking at houses.
You don’t want to go out and fall in love with a home and find that you really do not qualify for the payment.
