For those of you that have lived in our area since 1981, you may remember us.
We were located next to Jamesway (remember Jamesway?!)
The store is now CVS and McCaffrey’s, in the DelRay Center.
In 1990 we moved to Logan Square, and became New Hope Pet Center. It is one of our greatest pleasures to have customers who bring in their children – and tell us they remember us from when they were kids and their parents brought them in to see the animals.
Having three generations of a family as customers is so very rewarding, and fun!
Our business is very different from the one we started in 1981.
There was no grooming, and we carried lots of birds, reptiles, and fish. Today, we are primarily Grooming and Premium Pet Supplies.
We no longer have any live animals for sale.
During our 39 years in business, New Hope Pet Center, like so many other businesses, has never had to deal with a crisis like we are all experiencing.
Unlike some of our friends and customers, we have been able to remain open, with adjustments to operations and hours.
The New Hope community – our friends, customers, and neighbors – have been gracious, understanding, and supportive.
We are very concerned that so many of our local businesses have not been as fortunate as we have, and are continuing to struggle to stay open and even just stay in business.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone who has been impacted by this unprecedented period.
