Bucks for Kids (www.bucksforkids.org) was pleased to receive $500 in gift cards for kids and teens in the care of Bucks County C & Y to be used at Doylestown Book Shop. The gift cards were given by Mary Beth & Steve Vinkler of State Farm Agency in Fountainville as part of State Farm’s Corporate Good Neighbor Relief Program that helps to boost the local economy during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Vinklers’ mantra, repeated often to their children, was “Everyone needs to read; readers are leaders and leaders are readers.” By making this particular gift, the Vinklers were following their passions of helping children who need assistance and supporting a local bookstore.
The 20 gift cards were presented to Nancy Larkin-Taylor, executive director of Bucks for Kids, and Glenda Childs, owner of Doylestown Book Shop, with locations in Doylestown & Lahaska.
Bucks for Kids is an all-volunteer organization that has for over 30 years helped fund extracurricular activities for kids and teens under the care of Bucks County Children & Youth: summer camp, sports fees, music and art lessons, clothing, class trips, computers, and college scholarships.
