Twining Village – Holland

For nearly 40 years, Twining Village has welcomed older adults, offering lifestyle and care options that include independent living, personal care, memory care, short-term rehabilitation and traditional skilled nursing.

Senior communities with this range of options are described as providing a “continuum of care,” which offers value and security for residents, for life.

All levels of care and lifestyle options at Twining Village give residents the services and support they need, while offering countless opportunities for an active and engaged life.

Beverly Gowton, director of Community Life & Transportation, is one of the team who helps to ensure residents find fun and fulfilling ways to enjoy life every day.

“Our residents on all levels of care have an active lifestyle,” she says. “In personal care, for example, residents enjoy the fitness room with instruction from our fitness coordinator three days a week. For those who like to go out, there are monthly luncheons, theater or something as simple as a scenic ride – sometimes with a sweet treat. For those who like to say home, on- campus activities include card games, word games, group crossword puzzles, bingo, coffee klatches, bible study, sing-alongs, baking and pet therapy, to name just a few.

“Residents are encouraged to participate in their own independent endeavors because everyone is unique,” she adds. “Residents can be as active as they wish to be!”

Perhaps Nancy, who came to Twining Village as an independent living resident and is now in personal care, says it best.

“I am happy that I chose Twining Village for my continuous care. There are many activities for many different interests, and I have met so many nice people. The staff provides help when I need it and supports my independence when I want it.”
