Doane Academy

Doane Academy, a coeducational, independent Episcopal day school serving students from age three through grade 12, has been located since 1837 on a beautiful 11-acre riverfront campus in Burlington, New Jersey.

Doane’s identity is shaped as much by its present and future as it is by its venerable history.

As the school’s mission states, Doane is a school where students are all known, loved, and strongly encouraged to reach their unique potential.

In this sense, Doane is traditional – proud to be a small school that honors its traditions while celebrating its ability to both nurture and challenge a diverse group of students.

But Doane is also a school that is innovative, forward thinking, and demanding.

The school believes that the combination of a rigorous academic program with a strong emphasis on leadership and character development produces students at Doane Academy who are ready and able to make meaningful, positive change in their communities.

Doane does so with the support of a school family in which each member – from the youngest student in their Primary Program to seniors preparing to embark on the next leg of their educational journey – is cared for and sustained by love, compassion, and respect.

The best way to learn about Doane Academy is to visit the campus.

You can register for the school’s next Open House or you are welcome to schedule a personal tour from the school website at

The next Open House dates are Saturday, October 5th at 2:00pm, and Sunday, November 17th at 2:00pm.

Doane Academy looks forward to greeting you as you learn more about the extraordinary difference that a Doane education can make in your life.
