The Friends of the Yardley Public Burying Grounds invite you to join them in a community service morning to help with a spring clean up of this historic cemetery, located on Main Street in Yardley, across from the train station. Sat., April 5, 3:00pm - Bucks County Performing Arts Center presents “Hatched” at Yardley Community Centre, 1140 Edgewood Road, Yardley. Written and directed by Mara McEwin, is the original performance of a newborn chick emerging from her shell at sunrise to a strange and busy world. Told to the youngest of audience members 0-6, it is a first introduction into the theatre, while incorporating both the museum and farm. State Rep. Steve Santarsiero is partnering with Fox Chase Cancer Center to bring its mobile mammography van to the Hampton Inn parking lot, 1000 Stony Hill Road in Yardley, 19067 at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11.

Appointments are required. Residents should call Santarsiero’s office at 215-493-5420 for more information and to make an appointment. Mammography screening requirements include:

• Must be 40 years old or older.
• Name and address of one of your doctors.
• Prescription from your doctor.
• May not be breast feeding nor have breast fed within the last nine months.
• Must not have had a breast cancer diagnosis within the past two years.
• Must not be under treatment for breast cancer.
• Must not have had a mammogram in 12 months.
• Must be able to board the van and stand while being examined.

All are invited to a lecture on Orchids, "Introduction to Orchids and Repotting" on Wed April 23, 12:30 at the Lower Bucks Masonic Hall, corner of Edgewood and Heacock Rd, Yardley. Kirsten Smith of Parkside Orchid Nursery will give an introduction to orchids and talk about repotting orchids. Parkside is one of the largest orchid nurseries in the northeastern part of the United States. They serve the wholesale and retail market fro Phila to New York City. No reservations necessary.
