SCORE Bucks County will repeat their popular free seminar – “Starting Your Own Small Business”, at the Doylestown Library, S. Pine Street, Doylestown on Thursday 24th May, 6:15 to 9:00pm.

This  2½ hour Seminar will be a practical introduction to the most important issues when starting a new business. Former business owners and senior corporate executives will explain in plain, practical terms how to prepare yourself and what to expect as a business owner.

Subjects to be covered will include: Selecting a product or service. Creating an LLC.  Registering a fictitious business name.  Finding a suitable partner and investors. Building your relationship with the Bank.  Financial management and cash-flow.  Effective marketing and selling techniques.  The Seminar will conclude with a Q&A session where SCORE members will answer questions from the audience.

All attendees are eligible for a free, confidential, counseling session with an experienced SCORE Small Business Mentor for advice and practical assistance when starting their own business.

SCORE of Bucks County will repeat their popular, Saturday morning, small business seminar – “Starting and Growing a Small Business” – at the the Levittown Library on December 3rd. The seminar starts at 9:15am and is free of charge.

This practical and informal seminar is recommended for anyone thinking of starting their own small business or anyone with an existing business looking for growth during difficult times. Speakers will explain how to select and start a new business; how to create an LLC; select business partners; find investors and fund the business; write a business plan and develop an effective marketing plan. Each seminar ends with a lively Q & A session.

SCORE seminars are led by former business owners and senior corporate managers who volunteer their support for the small business community in Bucks County by providing practical, un-biased advice based on their own business experience. Participants at the seminar can make an appointment for a free, confidential, one-on-one meeting with an experienced SCORE Small Business Mentor, to discuss their plans for starting their own business or answer any other business related questions.

SCORE Bucks County plans small business seminars & workshops for the fall

Over 150 aspiring entrepreneurs are expected to attend the seven seminars and workshops entitled “Starting & Growing a Small Business,” as planned by the Bucks County Chapter of SCORE for the fall 2011 season. This program offers practical advice for anyone thinking of starting their own small business, either immediately or sometime in the future.

The subjects to be covered will include: selecting a business, analyzing risks and rewards, creating the company, sales, marketing, funding, financial management and the importance of planning. Each event will be led by former business owners and senior corporate executives, giving commercial advice based on their personal working experience.

Commencing mid-September, three workshops providing 10 hours of class time over four or five evenings, will explain in detail how to start and run your own small business. Workshops will be held at the Bucks County Technical High School, Fairless Hills and also at the Bucks County Community College campuses in both Newtown and Perkasie.

Four, 2½ hour seminars providing an introduction to starting and growing a small business will be held on either Saturday mornings or weekday evenings at the Bucks County Libraries in Doylestown, Quakertown, Northampton and Levittown, commencing mid-October through December.

All participants will be eligible for additional, free-of-charge meeting with a SCORE Small Business Mentor to discuss their individual plans and to get practical advice from experienced business people.
