Lower Southampton’s beloved Playwicki Farm, a 110-acre park located at 2350 Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville, has several fun family events slated for the month of June.
Pumpkin Planting Day is set for June 2nd, and families are invited to participate in planting pumpkin seeds in a prepared patch. Hopefully hundreds of pumpkins will be harvested and painted by children come fall when the Farm holds its annual Fun Day, complete with scarecrow-making, hayrides, and an old-fashioned pie-baking contest.
The new pumpkin patch is seen as not only a learning experience for children who participate, but a cost-saving measure, as previously pumpkins were purchased for the Fun Day pumpkin painting, and now, barring invasions by deer and other four-legged creatures, there should be plenty of pumpkins available.
The popular Playwicki Farmer’s Market is set to open Wednesday, June 6th, and will be open, rain or shine, every Wednesday thereafter until October 26th. Fresh produce, baked goods and crafts are available at the Market.
On June 16th (rain date June 23rd) the annual Spring Flea Market will be held. Spaces are for $20 and participants must provide their own tables.
