McCaffrey’s Newtown store celebrates grand opening Nov. 9th

Friday, November 9th marks the official grand opening of the newly remodeled McCaffrey’s Supermarket at South Eagle Road in Newtown. The store opens at 9:00am, following an 8:30am ribbon cutting.

To celebrate and to thank customers for their loyalty and patience during a six-week-long top-to-bottom transformation, McCaffrey’s will raffle off prizes for four weeks, among them: gift cards valued at $1,000, $500, $250 and $100, and prizes in every department including deli trays, fully prepared Thanksgiving dinners, whole filet mignons, gift certificates for prepared foods, bakery cakes, specials in seafood, produce and Java Jim’s gift baskets.

And, the first 100 customers to enter McCaffrey’s Newtown location through the main doors on Friday and Saturday will receive a free bag of groceries.

At McCaffrey’s, shoppers find produce that is picked and delivered daily; the best seafood, poultry and meats (and a butcher on hand from open to close to answer questions and provide custom cuts); an extensive prepared foods department offering meals that are convenient and healthy; made-to-order pizzas; a full-service deli; cheeses from around the world; an award-winning bakery; and Java Jim’s coffee. McCaffrey’s also provides an extensive and expanding selection of products that are gluten free, kosher, natural, organic and hormone free.

“Our goal is to not only meet your expectations but to exceed them with each visit to our store,” said Jim McCaffrey, founder and owner of the family-run chain.

McCaffrey’s Newtown location will be open 8:00am-10:00pm on November 10th (the day after the grand opening), and after that will resume normal hours, which are 7:00am-10:00pm Monday through Saturday, and 7:00am-9:00pm on Sundays.

Shoppers should expect McCaffrey’s become an integral part of the Newtown community, as it has in the other three communities it serves. In 2011, McCaffrey’s donated $330,000 to charities and civic organizations in Princeton and West Windsor, NJ, and Yardley, PA, and in the few months since acquiring the Newtown space, McCaffrey’s has already lent its support by paying for shuttle bus service to the fireworks display on July 7th, and donating to Newtown Theater’s fundraising efforts for a digital projector.

Premier color bar and hair salon opens in Newtown

Have you ever noticed that every hair salon you go to typically has the same appearance and the same hair coloring mixture routine? They have styling chairs lined up in front of mirrors and when it comes time to have your hair color mixed, your stylist disappears into a back room while you wait for her to return with the mysterious formula. But that’s all changed now that Primary Colors Salon recently opened in Newtown. 

“What sets us apart is that we are the only hair salon in Bucks County to have a color bar,” says owner Annalisa Alessandro Reavy.

So, what’s a color bar, you might ask? It looks like a bar you’d find at a pub or restaurant, but it’s stocked with a large variety of hair colors. As opposed to bartenders, behind this bar you’ll find Primary Colors Salon’s own Color Mixologists mixing up your hair color formula.

Annalisa brings over two decades of experience in hair styling and coloring to her salon. She has been a Matrix Artistic Educator and Colorist for the past 18 years. You might remember her from Salon 532, where she worked for 25 years prior to opening this salon.
