Premier color bar and hair salon opens in Newtown

Primary Colors Salon by June Portnoy

Have you ever noticed that every hair salon you go to typically has the same appearance and the same hair coloring mixture routine? They have styling chairs lined up in front of mirrors and when it comes time to have your hair color mixed, your stylist disappears into a back room while you wait for her to return with the mysterious formula. But that’s all changed now that Primary Colors Salon recently opened in Newtown.

“What sets us apart is that we are the only hair salon in Bucks County to have a color bar,” says owner Annalisa Alessandro Reavy.

So, what’s a color bar, you might ask? It looks like a bar you’d find at a pub or restaurant, but it’s stocked with a large variety of hair colors. As opposed to bartenders, behind this bar you’ll find Primary Colors Salon’s own Color Mixologists mixing up your hair color formula.

“Our color bar offers customers a front row seat experience on how your personal hair color formula is prepared,” says Annalisa. “Your color is not mixed behind closed doors at this salon. It’s done right in front of you, so you can actually see what is being put into your custom formula.”

The color bar is the heartbeat and focal point of this salon. It is set in front of windows, so you are not forced to stare at mirrors everywhere.

Annalisa brings over two decades of experience in hair styling and coloring to her salon. She has been a Matrix Artistic Educator and Colorist for the past 18 years. You might remember her from Salon 532, where she worked for 25 years prior to opening this salon.

Annalisa has studied under the best in the hair industry with names like Vidal Sassoon, Tony & Guy, Graham Webb, Patrick Cameron, Martin Parsons Matrix Global Academy and more!

“Hair coloring is my specialty and my trademark,” says Annalisa. “It’s what I want to be known for in Bucks County.”
