Competitions set for Annual Garden & Home Show

The Annual Bucks Beautiful Garden & Home Show will be held March 16th, 17th and 18th, at Delaware Valley College located in New Britain Borough.

Non-professionals are invited to participate in a competition that includes an Artistic division featuring the theme “The Neighborhood” and Horticultural division each with four classes. This is a free event for non-professionals. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes with a Best of Show awarded in each of the divisions. The deadline for registration is March 1st.

Seminars Set for Garden & Home Show

The 21st Annual Bucks Beautiful Garden & Home Show will be held on Friday, March 16, 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday, March 17 & 18, 2012, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown. 

Friday, March 16, will be Preview Night, with Wine & Hors D’oeuvres (while supplies last) being offered.  The cost is $20 per person. The Garden & Home Show will feature its seminar series on Saturday and Sunday offering garden and home related topics.   

Saturday, March 17 Seminar Speakers:

11:00 a.m. – Noon:  Phil Eiseman – Maintenance, Upgrades and Energy Efficiency for your Home  

This seminar will give a comprehensive look at how to maintain, upgrade and make your home more energy efficient.  Phil Eiseman is President of Eiseman Construction Company, Inc.; an innovator in residential remodeling for 40 years.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m.:  Scott MeyerGrowing Food in Small Spaces

Wherever you live, you can grow some of your own food; this seminar will help you choose the best food plants for your space and conditions.  Scott Meyer is the former Editor-in-Chief of Organic Gardening magazine and author of the City Homesteader; Sufficiency on Any Square Foot.

Sunday, March 18 Seminar Speakers

11:00 a.m. – Noon:  Carter van Dyke, RLA, ASLAHow to Make Your Garden Sing through Simple Detailing

Award winning landscape architect, Carter van Dyke, will focus on the techniques and details he uses to make outdoor spaces special, by using simple details to transform a garden to spice up your property.  Carter van Dyke, RLA is president of CVDA, has been developing exceptional gardens throughout the region for the past 28 years.

Competitions Set for Annual Garden & Home Show

The Annual Bucks Beautiful Garden & Home Show will be held March 16, 17 & 18, 2012, at Delaware Valley College located in New Britain Borough, Bucks County.

Non-professionals are invited to participate in a competition that includes an Artistic division featuring the theme The Neighborhood and Horticultural division each with four classes. This is a free event for non-professionals. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes with a Best of Show awarded in each of the divisions. The deadline for registration is March 1, 2012.

Professional florists are invited to create beautiful wedding floral displays. The arrangement along with business cards will be displayed during the three-day show in a special section of the Garden & Home Show. Florist need not be present. The entry fee is $50; deadline for registration is February 28, 2012.
