Sunday morning is the traditional time for church services, right? Well, in 99% of cases you would be right, but in this case, Sunday morning was the time for serving the community. One Sunday last month, First Baptist Church of Morrisville sent the bulk of its regular Sunday morning worshippers out wearing their bright orange shirts to serve various places in the community, including staining the playground at Williamson Park, doing yard work at the Ivins Center, the Senior Center, the YMCA, Summerseat, and the corner of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Avenues. The event was called, “Get Out Of Church Sunday,” and the rationale behind it is that the church is not just a place to meet, but a group of believers called to serve. So serve they did. There was also a group at the church making care packages for the church’s foreign missionaries.
The First Baptist Church of Morrisville is sponsoring a viewing of the movie “God Is Not Dead” on Friday night, September 5th, at Williamson Park, Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville, at 7:30pm. It will be shown on a huge blow-up screen and is free for the public. Bring is a blanket or lawn chair. For info call Ed Reese at 1-443-622-4402.
