First Savings is pleased to expand its presence in Central Bucks County by opening its third branch in this area. This new location, First Savings’ 11th branch office, is located at 3969 Durham Road (corner of Route 413 and Cold Spring Creamery Road) in Buckingham Township. The Buckingham branch is located in a restored farmhouse.

“We strived to preserve the original character of the farmhouse by retaining many of its original elements,” says Peter Brown, VP and Director of Marketing and Sales at First Savings.

Some of these features include the original stonewalls and large windows with original wooden drawers beneath. The original farmhouse was expanded to include a new bank branch, which features an exposed post and beam frame and tongue and groove ceiling, reflecting the farming history of the property.

“It truly is a beautiful building and a great example of adaptive reuse,” adds Peter.

This branch marks the third location in the Central Bucks County, with branches already established in New Britain that opened in 2008 and the Poole’s Corner office that opened last year.

“We felt there was a need for a second branch in Buckingham because we want to be convenient to our clients in and around Doylestown and Central Bucks County,” says Peter. “Lots of people commute along this route on a daily basis and we had no other branch in the immediate area. Our goal is to expand to reach our clients.”
