Alexander Kearns, of Lower Makefield and Boy Scout Troop 210 out of St. John’s Lutheran Church, held his Eagle Court of Honor on June 3rd.
Alex’s Eagle Project involved planning and building a storage area in the choir room of St. John’s in order to more efficiently and attractively house the church’s items, which were being stored on and cluttering the choir and accounting rooms.
After creating preliminary sketches, plans, and descriptions, Alex received approval from the Scoutmaster, Troop, church, and district.
He then set about raising funds for the project through a flea market and generous donations from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, American Legion, Piazza Nuova Lodge, and Lowe’s.
Finally, he led volunteers in assembling the storage area, which involved framing, installing drywall, spackling, assembling shelves, and fitting doors.
He would like to thank the leadership and volunteers of Troop 210 as well as all the organizations that helped to make his project a success.
