If you’re searching for a great place to go antiquing, look no farther than in your own community at The Brownsville Antique Centre in Trevose. Established almost 15 years ago, it is one of the few antique shops in the area.

“We have a vast array of antiques and collectibles dating back from the 1800s to the 1970s,” says owner Donna Rae Lee who started the business with her mother, Connie Robinson, back in 1997. “After being in business for so long, I know what my customers want and I shop with them in mind,” adds Donna Rae.

At The Brownsville Antique Centre, you’ll find antiques ranging from furniture, jewelry, depression glass and tools, to toys, china, kitchenware, ephemera, figurines, pottery, books and deco and primitive period pieces. Unlike so many huge antique marts, The Brownsville Antique Centre is housed in a comfortable, cozy, home setting located in a building dating back to the 1800s.

This dealer-friendly shop is a co-op featuring 40 active dealers displaying their merchandise, in addition to the shop’s own antiques. Because there are so many dealers, merchandise is always changing, so stop by frequently for new and unusual finds.

The Brownsville Antique Centre is located in the main building, consisting of 2,500 square feet. Directly behind this building is the Carriage House with another 1,000 square feet that offers different dealers with even more merchandise to browse.

The friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you find what you’re looking for at the shop, and are always happy to research a piece in order to properly identify it for you. Prices are quite affordable here.

“I’ve been told that by customers who comparison shop at many antique shops that we have the best prices they’ve ever seen,” says Donna Rae, who began collecting antique jewelry when she was 16.

She grew up in Trevose in a home filled with antiques.

“My mom and I went antiquing together all the time,” says Donna Rae. “Whenever we traveled together, we always sought out antique shops.”
