Wednesdays, 7:30pm – Flying Solo Support Group at Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 N. Chancellor St., Newtown. Flying Solo is a support group for those who are living through divorce or separation. The group meets weekly throughout the year on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm and is facilitated by a mental health professional. Meetings encourage listening, non-judgmental support, and help from periodic guest speakers or group members who have experienced similar life circumstances. This program is non-denominational, interfaith, and opens its support to all who come.

Bucks County Half Marathon Volunteers Needed

Details about Bucks County Half Marathon Volunteers Needed

For the past four years, the Bucks County Half Marathon has provided hundreds of East Coast walkers and runners with a premier racing experience. This year they are in need of 40 volunteers, ages 10 and up, and have asked A Woman's Place (AWP) if we could reach out to the community on their behalf. AWP training is not required, and Bucks County Half Marathon will donate $20.00 to AWP for every volunteer who signs up.

Duties: Each volunteer will be assigned a water station along the 13 mile course and assist in passing out water to runners. Some walking may be involved but volunteers will be transported to stations that are further from start area. Newtown Library sponsors trip to Winterthur Museum

Newtown Library sponsors trip to Winterthur Museum in Winterthur, DE, to see the only United States exhibit of the costumes of “Downtown Abbey.” Tour the house and gardens of Winterthur, along with a fully guided tour of the Exhibit Hall where the costumes will be displayed. A lunch will be provided in a private section of the pavilion, in addition to two snacks. Price of $75 is all-inclusive and covers transportation, admission, guided tours and food.
