New Hope Art League welcomes Sandy Askey-Adams as their featured speaker Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 7pm, St. Martin of Tours Church School cafeteria, 1 Riverstone Circle (off Rt. 179 by Staples), New Hope, PA. Sandy Askey-Adams is an elected Signature Member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America and holds Signature Membership in the Maryland Pastel Society as well.

She is a national, regional and local award winning artist having won more than 35 awards for her pastels since returning to the medium in 2007.  Her work has been featured in the National Art Magazine, "Pastel Journal" and is featured in several art book publications, including "Artists of the Mid-Atlantic." She will be featured in a new book coming out in 2015, "Artists Art Studios." Sandy states, "Nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration...and I aspire to capture the spirit, serenity and beauty of nature in hope that my work will stir an emotional response with my viewers."  Her web site is www.sandyaskeyadams.com

Walk the Cuttalossa Valley

The Solebury Township Historical Society invites you to a guided history walk along “the prettiest little valley in America,” the Cuttalossa in Solebury Township on Saturday, October 4, 9 a.m. We will walk along Cuttalossa Road between Sugan Road and River Road, enjoying the fall scenery and  learning about the history of this once industrial valley from historian and author Willis Rivinus. Find out why this valley recently became the township’s sixth National Historic District.

Please enter Cuttalossa Road from Sugan Road and look for parking signs (car pool when possible). Light refreshments will be served at the end of the walk and return transportation to your car will be offered. STHS members free; non-members, $5. No reservations necessary. One Day Plein Air Paint Out

Bucks County Audubon Society announces a One Day Plein Air Paint Out on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Honey Hollow Watershed, a national historic landmark established in 1969. Registration is open for artists interested in participating in the Paint Out, held in conjunction with the Trinity House Tour where the Bucks County Audubon Society’s visitor center, a circa 1930’s historic barn is a featured stop on the tour.

Artists paint from 8:00am to 4:30pm on the property with amazing views of farms, fields, meadows and forest. Registration is open until October 3 and limited to 20 artists. There is no registration fee and artists are invited to sell art from their easels with a portion of sales being contributed to Bucks County Audubon Society’s mission to educate people of all ages about the natural world, including the protection of birds and other wildlife and their habitats. Interested artists can register via email to: registerme@BCAS.org and provide your name, contact information, website address. Artists will check in and have canvases stamped on the morning of October 18 between 8:00am and 9:00am.
