Neighborhood Coffee House Opens in Morrisville

Up until recently, there have been no coffee houses located anywhere near downtown Morrisville, but thanks to the Running Dog Cafe, that void has now been filled. In fact, the Running Dog Cafe is more than just a coffee house. "In addition to coffee, this coffee house offers an extended menu," explains owner Jim Steimke. Besides coffee, it also serves soup, salad, sandwiches and Panini. Desserts like cheesecakes, chocolate tortes and pastries are also available. Thanks to the Running Dog Cafe, you no longer have to pay those high gas prices to drive somewhere for a cup of coffee. Instead, simply stroll downtown to grab a pastry, get a quick snack or take a lunch break from work. Jim, who has lived in Morrisville since 1999, hopes the Running Dog Cafe will help enhance the many renovations already taking place in downtown Morrisville. "Our goal is to offer good quality products," says Jim. "We set high standards in terms of coffee and food, and offer very competitive prices." The Running Dog Cafe has a full line of coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, lattes and some macchiatos. It serves only Whole Latte Love because this brand is premium coffee. It also carries a full line of coffee flavoring. As opposed to many coffee houses where the food is placed in a cooling case wrapped in plastic for hours before you buy it, the Running Dog Cafe serves good quality food that is custom made just for you. This neighborhood coffee house is owned and managed by Morrisville residents. Jim's wife, Nancy, does food preparation and cooking. Its manager, Debbie, cheerfully greets all customers and takes care of day-to-day business operations. The Panini and sandwich expert, Lisa, also lives in Morrisville. When you come in, simply place your order and then have a seat until a staff member delivers your food right to your table. The Running Dog Cafe has seating for 32. And with the warm weather upon us, enjoy its outdoor patio seating as well. Everyone on staff is thoroughly trained to provide excellent customer service. The staff tries to get to know each of its customers. As a result, The Running Dog Cafe already has a lot of repeat customers after only being open since May. "So far we've received all positive feedback," says Jim. "Our customers really love our food and our coffee." Business hours are Mondays through Fridays from 7:00am until 5:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am until 2:00pm. So next time you're in the mood for an espresso or a light snack, or you want a good quality sandwich for a change, don't bother jumping in your car when you can walk downtown to the Running Dog Cafe, located at 58B on East Bridge Street.
