A Jazz Tribute to Langston Huges featuring Shantel Hubert and Social Justice

The African American Museum of Bucks County, (AAMBC), is excited to present a very special jazz concert to the community, featuring Shantel Hubert and jazz band, Social Justice

Through original musical performance, poetry, and lecture, singer and educator Shantel Hubert celebrates the great American poet, playwright, novelist, and Harlem Renaissance artist, Langston Hughes. Backed by a jazz trio, Shantel’s performance of “Intersection Between the Veiled and the Masked” examines Hughes’ timeless work in connection with contemporary calls for social and racial justice.

“The AAMBC is honored to present this unique program to the Bucks County community, and we are grateful to Pennswood Village for allowing AAMBC to use their beautiful setting for this event. It is wonderful to have such community support from our close neighbors,” said Linda Salley, President, and Executive Director of the African American Museum of Bucks County.

The concert will begin at 3:00 PM and be immediately followed by a wine and cheese reception at 4:00 pm. The event will be held in the Auditorium at Pennswood Village, 1382 Newtown – Langhorne Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.

Tickets to the event are $20 and may be purchased at: aamuseumbucks.org/events.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Museum’s building fund to further renovate its new home at Boone Farm.
