Newtown Arts Company’s production of “The Wedding Singer,” a musical comedy, set to run April 23rd through 29th at the Newtown Theatre, 120 N. State Street, Newtown, lovingly revives a time when hair was big, greed was good, and a wedding singer might just have been the coolest guy in the room.
It’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer.
He is the life of the party until his fiancée leaves him at the altar.
Heartbroken but still performing, he ends up making other weddings as disastrous as his own.
Then Robbie meets Julia and falls madly in love. The only trouble is that Julia is about to marry a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.
Directed by Hilary Appel, with Assistant Director Chrissy Breeman, and Music Director Sue den Outer.
The show is produced by Lisa Reiser, with Assistant Producers Cheryl Young, Bethann Seffrin, and Melissa Victor.
