Annual Peaceable Kingdom Conference is April 18th

The Annual Peaceable Kingdom Conference is being held at Bucks County Community College, Rollins Center Gallagher Room, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown on Saturday, April 18th, from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The conference is sponsored by the Bucks County Community College Business Studies Department.

The Peaceable Kingdom Conference is the only conference whose goals are to: respect animals’ emotions and intelligence; increase our reliance on plant-based foods; be kind to Earth, its inhabitants, and ourselves; and, strengthen the human-animal bond.

The featured speakers and exhibitors are prominent community leaders in animal welfare, rescue, science, spirituality, and social justice.

The Peaceable Kingdom workshops emphasize the conference goals, invite participants to examine their personal relationship with animals, and encourage participants to be open to adopting plant-based eating in small ways.

Everyone in the general public of all ages, vegans and non-vegans alike, are welcome to attend.  Participants can expect to hear thought-provoking topics from Dr. Ana M. Negron, author; Chris Little Simcox, Bucks County Community College; Suzanne Gonzalez, Lancaster Farm Sanctuary; Sara Eifler, Jewish Veg; and Kathryn Jennings, Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support.

The conference exhibitors, also focused on the conference goals, share information with participants on how to take active steps towards a plant-based diet, purchase humane products, encourage empathy, and support animal rescues.

Conference Exhibitors include the Vegan Spirituality, Bucks County SPCA, Jewish Veg, American Anti-Vivisection Society, The Friendly Vegan, Tabby’s Place, Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, Day by Day Pet Caregiver Support, and more.

The Conference name is inspired by the “Peaceable Kingdom” paintings by Edward Hicks.  Edward Hicks was a life-long Bucks County resident.

He painted his first “Peaceable Kingdom” at the age of 40, and completed over 60 versions in his lifetime.

In the “Peaceable Kingdom,” Hicks depicts humans and animals living together in peace.

There is a $32 per person registration fee; and pre-registration is required due to limited seating.  The registration fee includes a vegan lunch and donations to the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary and the Bucks County Community College Business Studies Department.
