    Spotlight: Pickering Manor

Hello, 2020! A new year, a new decade, A NEW BUILDING!

Building on its legacy, Pickering Manor broke ground on an expansion and renovation project in July 2018 – this year it is expected to hold its GRAND OPENING.

Expanding their footprint with a new two-story building and a new front entrance with a porte-cochere, the project includes the addition of a dedicated short-term rehabilitation neighborhood with private rooms, a brand-new rehabilitation gym, a new personal care neighborhood with expanded living options and its own private gym, and a dedicated memory care neighborhood.

The current skilled neighborhood will be updated with state-of-the-art renovations and reserved for long-term care and hospice.

Pickering Manor’s focus will be customizing and tailoring living and care options to each individual’s personal needs and desires.

Specially designed spaces will be found throughout the community, along with specially designed décor.

And not only will Pickering have a beautiful interior, the exterior will have beautiful outdoor garden spaces, decks, terraces, and patios.

A unique experience for certain and one that will continue to set Pickering Manor apart from the rest in the industry.

Pickering Manor will continue to offer its community opportunities to enjoy vibrant and comfortable lifestyles with a wide range of activities and services, designed to enable residents to live life to the fullest.

Pickering will only be growing by 14-beds remaining true to themselves, their mission, and success in holding and maintaining that small family kind of feeling.

As part of the project, three independent living cottages have already been expanded from one to two-bedrooms.

For over 55 years, Pickering Manor has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of senior citizens and they couldn’t be more excited for the future.

They continue to maintain a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – the highest score possible.

Pickering Manor’s quality of service and their commitment to compassionate care has been said to be unparalleled.

This unique non-profit Life Plan Community is owned and operated by the Community Welfare Council of Newtown and can be found nestled in the heart of Newtown at 226 N. Lincoln Avenue.
