“More than 99% of women have used some form of birth control at some point in their lives, so recent efforts to restrict federal Title X funding are baffling,” says BCWAC president Kathy Welsh Beveridge. “More than four million people rely on this funding to access affordable contraception and essential health care, including protection from sexually transmitted diseases. In addition to increasing STDs, the rollback of Title X is a policy change that is most likely to increase poverty, abortions, and children’s suffering while also reducing the economic participation of women and national prosperity.”
