Afterschool programs inspire kids to learn and give parents peace of mind. 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), in partnership with Ivins Outreach Center, are funded in full or in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and provide afterschool and summer learning opportunities. Programs focus on subjects like science, technology, engineering, arts, math (STEAM), language arts, English language learning (ELL), drug and violence prevention, health education, and service learning.
In addition to the students who participate, the community benefits from the model which uses the schools as a resource. Academic enrichment programs are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic curriculum and include tutoring and homework assistance. There are also outreach programs such as literacy and related educational development services to the families of children who are served through the program.
21st CCLC sites are located at the following schools:
- Bristol Borough School District and Saint Mark School
- School District of Borough of Morrisville and Holy Trinity School
- Bucks County Technical High School, Center for Student Learning Charter School, and Conwell-Egan Catholic High School
- Bensalem High School, Robert K Shafer Middle School, Saint Charles Borromeo School, and Saint Ephrem School
