Central Bucks Educators Awarded $15,000 in Grants from CB Cares

Thirty-one Central Bucks School District (CBSD) educators have something to be cheerful about this holiday season. Their creative projects were funded through CB Cares Educational Foundation’s Innovative Learning Grant program. In this grant cycle – the first of two in the 2019-20 school year – CB Cares EF funded $15,000 in projects.

The Innovative Learning Grant program encourages educators to pilot new ideas by funding inventive projects that wouldn’t be possible within the district’s regular budget within the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math; leadership and career readiness; environmental education; and student wellness. Since its launch in 2014, the program has provided more than $125,000 to CBSD educators.

This year’s grants have funded projects across 14 schools in the district, touching the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Projects include “Robotic Autonomous Car” at CB High School East, “Oasis Stations” at CB High School West, an after-school history club at Titus Elementary School, “Growing Wellness with Children’s Literature” at Gayman Elementary School and many more. All told, 18 projects have been funded in this cycle.

CB Cares Educational Foundation is able to fund these projects thanks to the generous partnership of local businesses and individual supporters. As a registered nonprofit organization, the foundation relies on philanthropic gifts to support its mission of fostering resilient, responsible youth. In addition to grants for educators, CB Cares EF awards scholarships to students, recognizes and empowers students, and provides resources to thousands of parents. The organization touches all parts of the 120 square mile Central Bucks School District and serves as a catalyst for collaboration among community groups. Learn more at cb-cares.org.
