“Toys for Tots collection” ongoing until December 12th. Bring an unwrapped toy and drop it in our bin to help provide a gift for a local child this Holiday season.
“Indoor Rummage Sale” on MondayDecember 2nd through Saturday December 7th during library hours. Shop for holiday and everyday items.
“Notan Paper Snowflakes” on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30-8:30pm. For Grades 5-12. Based on the Japanese concept of Notan, teens will make snowflakes from cut paper and combine them with a textured watercolor background, creating a striking winter art project demonstrating their use of negative space.
“Blue Tree Lighting” on Wednesday December 4th at 6:30 pm. Lighting of the tree next to the library to honor fallen police officers.
“Gaming Club- Mexican Train Dominoes” on Friday, December 6th at 2:00pm. Learn to play or teach others to play Mexican Train Dominoes. The object of the game is for a player to play all the dominoes onto one or more chains starting from a central station.
“How the 2020 Census Affects You” on Wednesday, December 11th at 7:00 pm. Learn what’s new for the 2020 Census and how it’s important, easy and safe. The process is now more versatile and convenient. For the first time ever, you can answer questions online, by phone, or by mail. Learn about an invitation coming in March of 2020 to go online and complete the questionnaire. Also, learn about who the Census Bureau is, the types of census jobs available, how they collect statistics, and how schools, communities and businesses use that information to plan for the future. You will also learn why there is an undercount for children less than 5 years old as well as seniors.
“Friends of the Library Holiday Cookie Swap fundraiser” on Thursday, December 12th at 6:30 pm. Cost is $10. Tickets for sale at the Circulation Desk. Bring 48 of your favorite baked cookies and an empty swapping container.
“Santa at the Library” on Saturday December 14th 11:00 am- 2:00pm. This Christmas get into the spirit of giving and make everyone’s season bright. Each child that brings a canned good or other non-perishable item will have a picture taken with Santa. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Proceeds from the event will feed families in Lower Southampton Township during the holiday.
