    Mensa Foundation and Delaware Valley Mensa announce 2019-2020 scholarship essay contest

    The Mensa Foundation, the subsidiary of American Mensa, Ltd., is accepting applications for its annual scholarship contest.

    Applications are to be submitted online at mensafoundation.org/scholarships/.

    Scholarship winners will receive awards of $300 to $2,500 based on an essay of 550 words or less describing their academic or career goals.

    Eligibility requirements for a general Mensal Foundation scholarship are:

    • United States citizenship or legal residence;
    • Enrollment at any level (undergraduate, graduate, doctorate, etc.) at an accredited U.S. institution of post-secondary education for academic year 2020-2021.

    General Mensa Foundation scholarships are awarded with no restrictions regarding age, gender, academic grade point average or financial need.

    Applicants may also choose to be considered for specific award categories.

    Requirements and descriptions for these awards are listed on the scholarship application.

    There are two additional programs for Mensa members: Mensa Member Award program for Mensa members or their dependents, and the International Scholarship program for an international Mensa member studying in the U.S.

    Delaware Valley Mensa chapter also selects three awards ranging up to $500: two local awards to the highest scoring essays and the Carol Gomez Memorial Scholarship Award for an essay regarding cultural enrichment and/or the study of foreign languages.

    Essays and completed applications must be submitted by January 15th, 2020.
