Join Penn State Extension for a special Cork and Cellar Wine Tour as we venture to wonderful wine regions in “the mitten” (Michigan). We’ll meet you in Traverse City, Michigan on November 12-15, 2019, here, we will visit wineries on the lovely Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula of Michigan. This tour is for wine industry professionals. All Pennsylvania wine professionals who work for/own a winery with a PA Limited Winery License will receive a $225.00 scholarship provided through a grant from the PA Wine Marketing and Research Board.
This event will include behind the scenes tours of several different and unique vineyards. During our stops we will interact directly with winery owners and tasting room staff. The visits will allow us to discover how Michigan markets their wine, tasting room techniques and vineyard management. While traveling to different stops, our rolling classroom will feature guests directly from the Michigan wine industry and provide participants the opportunity to discuss relevant topics of their business’ successes and challenges of the season. In addition, we will be joined by Penn State Extension Enologist, Molly Kelly.
Our tour will begin in Traverse City, Michigan on the evening of November 12, 2019, where guests will meet tour hosts from Penn State Extension. The tour fee includes overnight hotel stay, bus fare, 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners. Airfare and travel to Traverse City, MI is not included in the tour cost.
