Langhorne Rotary news

On August 8th the Langhorne Rotary recognized five students at the Langhorne Rotary meeting.

Four of the students were recipients of a $1,000 J. Walter Styer Scholarship provided by a bequest from his estate.

Mr. Styer was a long time Rotary member who passed away in 1999. Palak Patel and Sydney Swope were present at the meeting.

Jose Bursk and Taylor Regensburger were not able to attend but were sent their checks.

Eugene W. Hieber was a devoted member of Rotary for 47 years.

He was involved in many projects and activities and was a generous donor to the Rotary Foundation, the Gundaker Fellowship, and always there to support humanitarian needs.

In memory of ‘Gene’ as he was known, many people and groups continue to donate funds for a scholarship fund to be used for a senior at the Bucks County Technical High School each year.

This year the $1000 scholarship recipient was Jazzalynn Grocholski.

Langhorne Rotary wishes the students a wonderful college career.

Special guest speaker for the meeting was State Representative Frank Farry.

He presented certificates from the State House, the State Senate, and the Governor.

He also was able to inform the club and students about what was happening in Harrisburg.
