Habitat for Humanity dedicates new home at Woodland Park in Morrisville

The community celebrate the dedication of a new home to Hector, Silvia and their children on Woodland Avenue in Morrisville on September 12th.

Volunteers, friends, family, new neighbors, donors and distinguished guests gathered in celebration of the completion of Habitat Bucks’ 118th home.

This is the third of four new, affordable, single-family homes on adjacent lots.

Hector served honorably in the US Army and the US National Guard, and currently works for a small company in Lower Bucks County.

On weekends, he leads the worship band at his church.

Hector heard about the Habitat home opportunity from a colleague at work.

He registered for Habitat’s Almost Home homebuyer readiness program. Matched with a coach from Penn Community Bank, he became determined to increase his savings.

His family sacrificed a lot. Hector attended every workshop; he took every skill and mastered it!

“It brings us so much joy to see Hector’s success in making his dream of homeownership come true,” says Florence Kawoczka, Executive Director, Habitat Bucks. “We congratulate the whole family on their commitment and realization of this dream.”

Since breaking ground, individual volunteers along with those from local businesses, organizations, faith groups, and schools have contributed over 800 hours working with Habitat Bucks and the family to build this home.
