    Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition Announces September Events

    The Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition (BCWAC) is hosting three free public events in September.

    Bucks County Economic Security Roundtable

    BCWAC is co-sponsoring a roundtable with legislators and the press to discuss issues related to economic security, including the minimum wage, in Bucks County. The event will be held on
    September 10th from 6:00-7:30pm at the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (2040 Street Rd. Warrington, PA 18976). BCWAC President Kathy Welsh Beveridge said, “We hope many people from our community will join us for this critically important dialogue to promote family-sustaining wages in Bucks County.”

    Family Care Act Bipartisan Listening Tour

    BCWAC and the Family Care Coalition will host a forum on the Family Care Act at the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (2040 Street Rd. Warrington, PA 18976) on September 16th from 6:00-7:30pm. Speakers will include Sen. Maria Collett and Rep. Wendi Thomas who co-introduced legislation to establish a paid family and medical leave insurance fund in Pennsylvania.

    Full Coalition Meeting Addressing Poverty and Caregiving

    BCWAC organizational and individual partners will meet on September 20th from 9:30-11:30am at Pennswood Village in Newtown. Discussion will focus on the connection between caregiving and poverty and include the perspectives of four partner organizations. All participants will have the opportunity to participate in a mini poverty simulation orchestrated by our partner, The Bucks County Opportunity Council.
