Paxson Hill Farm hosting Annual Art in the Garden Aug. 31st and Sept. 1st

Paxson Hill Farm, located at 3265 Comfort Road, New Hope, will host its 20th Annual Art in the Garden exhibit and sale on Saturday and Sunday, August 31 and September 1, rain or shine. Ninety local fine artists and fine craftspeople will present their work outdoors in Paxson Hill’s extensive gardens. Among the numerous media presented are painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, fiber and book arts, jewelry, woodturning, and more.

This year’s featured artist is Sheila Watson Coutin, a well-known ceramist from Stockton, New Jersey. Her work has been exhibited at numerous venues across the Bucks County and Hunterdon County areas and beyond, as well as in nearly every Art in the Garden. Sheila has worked in many media, including photography, painting, fiber arts, and woodworking. However, clay is the medium through which she expresses her “love of nature, my garden and the creatures that inhabit it . . . . Getting my hands dirty playing with clay remains a joy and a blessing”.

Visitors and patrons are invited to tour the various themed gardens of Paxson Hill Farm, which include sun and shade areas, water features, a hobbit house, and a boxwood maze ending in a gazebo offering a sweeping view of the countryside. In addition, the Straight Ahead Big Band will be performing on Saturday afternoon. There is a parking fee of $3.00, but no charge for admission. Food trucks will be available both days. In addition, the popular Straight Ahead Big Band, led by David Osenberg and featuring Shantel Hubert on vocals, will be performing on Saturday afternoon. Radio hosts from WWFM The Classical Network will also be on hand with program details, membership information, music and more. For further information and a list of vendors, visit www.paxsonhillfarm.com.
