NBA Welcome Day rescheduled for June 30th

The 19th Annual NBA Newtown Welcome Day, the “Street Fair with Flair,” cancelled on May 5th due to heavy rains and severe weather warnings, has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 30th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Sycamore Street in Newtown.

This one-day event draws 8,000-10,000 people annually.

The street will be filled with businesses showcasing their products and services, giving away promotional items and engaging in friendly family games and activities, including inflatables, as well as food vendors with local restaurant tastes, and the Rising Star singing competition.

Intertwined with the businesses’ booths will be many of the region’s artists and crafters, showcasing and selling their hand-made specialties.

The event is hosted by the Newtown Business Association.

Many retailers and restaurants on Sycamore Street will also celebrate in the festivities with promotions and curbside discounts.

After checking out the vendors along the street, one can drift over to State Street to the shops and any sidewalk sales.

Full details are at the NBA website at www.NewtownBA.org.
