Falls ‘Touch a Truck’ event nets $10K for area nonprofit

During the May 20th Falls Supervisors meeting, the Board of Supervisors presented a check for $10,850 to the Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation.

The funds were raised through more than 20 sponsorships as part of the third annual “Touch a Truck” event, which was held on April 27th at Falls Township Community Park.

The free family event was a collaborative effort with the Falls Township Parks and Recreation department, Supervisor Jeff Boraski and township staff.

The day featured dozens of various construction, landscaping and emergency response vehicles, as well as heavy machinery and equipment.

“It’s probably our most successful year yet,” Jeff said.

Middletown Township resident Mike Barnes, Executive Director of the Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation, accepted the contribution on behalf of the nonprofit organization and thanked organizers for putting together an inclusive fun family event.

“We were so honored and grateful to be part of the event,” Mike said. “Welcome to our Healing Hearts family.”
