Summer reading is upon us.
If you participated last year, you might wonder what we do with the reviews that count as raffle chances for the AMAZING prizes we offer. If you didn’t participate, well, come check us out this year.
There’s something for everyone at the library.
When you write a review, for every book you read (or listen to – it totally counts), you place it into the raffle for one of the many baskets we have this year.
Prizes include gift cards from local businesses as well as themed items to go with them.
Baskets are for kids, teens and adults. The more you read, the better your odds.
These reviews are collected and published in a format you can take home, peruse, make lists, place holds, and get excited for new books to read. To whet your appetite, here are a few highlights.
The Secret She Keeps by Michael Robotham – Agatha is obsessed with a woman named Meghan. Meghan seems to have it all, and she is pregnant. Agatha wants so bad to be just like the “perfect” Meghan. Soon the lives of these two women will become entangled in a suspenseful way. –Erin (Fiction)
My Sister’s Grave by Robert Dugoni – Highly recommended. It’s very mysterious. It is made more interesting by including flashbacks along with the current story, making characters more complex. Overall, loved the book. Can’t wait to read the sequel. –Jinal (Mystery)
The Perfect Mile by Neal Bascomb – This was a very inspiring true story of athletes pushing their limits without any fame or fortune being their motivating factor. –Erik (Non-Fiction)
Ending: The Last by Katherine Applegate – High fantasy YA with all-new species and great world building. Follows a Character – a darine (dog-like creature) who is the last of her species. Enjoyable for adults. Also great for read-aloud. – Katherine (Young Adult)
Come in and check out a great read @ the Library this summer!
It’s going to be stellar!
