Americans are living longer, but most older adults have at least one chronic condition (such as arthritis, diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, osteoporosis, and others) to contend with in the “golden years” that may impact their ability to lead active lives.
My Life My Health – Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshops, developed by Stanford University, are highly interactive and have been proven to help adults better manage their chronic conditions, improve their quality of life, and lower health care costs.
The workshops meet for 2.5 hours for six consecutive weeks and are led by two leaders, one or both of whom are non-health professionals with chronic conditions themselves.
Workshops are being offered this summer at the Falls Township Senior Center (215-547-6563) starting June 18th and Bensalem Senior Center (215-638-7720) starting June 20th.
The workshops are free but pre-registration is required. Call the centers directly for more information.
