Langhorne Rotary news

The Student of the Month from the Neshaminy High School is an outstanding musical as well as in the top 5% in his class. Aaron Morrison, lives with his mother Jennifer and his step-father Philip Sheridan. They were present at the meeting.

Aaron was introduce to the Rotary by Mr. Colin Trickel, who is senior grade level administrator and has had the benefit of attending the Student of the Month programs this school year.

Aaron is a member of the Marching Band, the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz and String Quartet, as well as a member of the National Honor Society.

In his spare time he volunteers at Our Daily Bread Shelter and the Washington Community Garden.

Aaron will most likely attend Carnegie Mellon to major in Music Composition, leading to a career in music.   

The Langhorne Rotary’s Community Person of Inspiration for May was Langhorne Borough resident Ellyn M. Schoen.

Ellyn exemplifies the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” for her work in the Borough.

She has served as president of the Langhorne Borough Business Association, and active with their Concerts in the Park, the Olde Langhorne Harvest Day, and the Association’s Car Show.

Ellyn is also on the board of the Langhorne Community Memorial Association, which owns the historic Richardson House, and is the treasurer and an active fundraiser.

Ellyn’s service to the community is a true inspiration and she states she wants to inspire others to be involved in the community.
