Is it harder to sell your home in the summer?

    Not at all.

You’ve probably wondered when the best time to sell your house is in order to maximize its value.

What reasons do homebuyers have for wanting to purchase homes at a particular time of the year?

Typically, buyer demand is increased during the warmer months of May and June due to several factors.

On average the month of May is the best time to sell a house.

As the temperature increases, landscapes become more attractive during this time as trees, grass and flowers begin to flourish.

As school lets out in May and June, buyers with kids tend to be more willing to buy a home after their children have been out of school.

    Why?

Because buyers are able to relocate their children to another school district if they move out of the area.

The long daylight hours of summer and bright sunshine offers great views of homes for sale for a longer period of time.

The warmer weather is more comfortable for homebuyers and motivates them to get outside and view potential houses to buy.

As competition for home sales ramp up, buyers are more inclined to make an offer more quickly, thus potentially increasing the value of offers.

Does this mean houses are less likely to sell during colder months?

No, not necessarily. In fact, areas where climate is more extreme generally see the opposite affect on demand in warmer months.

However, here in the Yardley area, now is the best time for your home to look it’s best and not have showings and open houses impacted by weather.
